NZ GST Compliance Built Right In
Automatic 15% GST calculations. IRD-compliant formatting. Never send a quote or invoice with wrong GST again.
What is GST Compliance in Paymate?
GST (Goods and Services Tax) is New Zealand's 15% value-added tax. If you're GST-registered, you must include GST on all invoices and quotes, show it clearly, and file GST returns with IRD (Inland Revenue).
Paymate handles all the GST calculations and formatting automatically. Just enter your prices - Paymate calculates the 15% GST, displays it in IRD-compliant format, and keeps proper records for your tax filing. No spreadsheets, no calculators, no mistakes.
Whether you're GST-registered or not, Paymate has you covered. Toggle GST on or off in settings, and every quote and invoice will be formatted correctly for your situation.
Why GST Compliance Matters

- •Pay accountant extra fees to sort out GST records

- ✓Choose GST-inclusive or exclusive pricing - Paymate handles conversion

GST Questions
Does Paymate calculate GST automatically?
Yes! Paymate calculates 15% GST automatically on all quotes and invoices. You just enter your prices (GST-exclusive or GST-inclusive) and Paymate handles all the math. Subtotal, GST amount, and total update instantly as you type.
Is Paymate IRD compliant?
Yes. All quotes and invoices include required IRD fields: your GST number, invoice date, customer details, line item descriptions, and clear GST breakdown (subtotal, GST amount at 15%, total). Your documents meet all Inland Revenue requirements for tax invoices.
Can I turn GST off for non-registered businesses?
Yes! If you're not GST registered (annual turnover under $60k), simply toggle GST off in your account settings. Your quotes and invoices will show prices without GST. When you cross the $60k threshold and register for GST, just toggle it back on.
What's the difference between GST-inclusive and GST-exclusive pricing?
GST-inclusive: The price you enter is what the customer pays (GST is included). Example: $115 price = $100 + $15 GST.
GST-exclusive: GST is added on top of your price. Example: $100 price + $15 GST = $115 total.
Paymate handles both - you choose which way you price, and Paymate calculates correctly.
Can I export GST data for my accountant?
Yes! Your dashboard shows all quotes and invoices with GST totals. You can export reports for your accountant or GST return filing. All the data is organized and ready - no messy spreadsheets needed.
